i. Prelude
Art is one of the few fields defined by a constant quest for perfection. Any such quest is by necessity an intertwined thread of joy and despair, and seeing it being spun is easily one of the most inspiring things one can experience. Laine Experiments, an independent art studio, exists to celebrate this pursuit.
ii. Fugue
Laine Experiments is an independent art studio engaged in several projects of varied nature. Currently, our main interests lie within visual arts, publishing, and fashion—we, however, follow inspiration and hope to come across something unexpected that compels us to adjust our plans to accommodate whatever sparks our curiosity.
Laine Experiments began its journey in 2022 as a Swiss non-profit association devoted to promoting the arts of bookbinding and handwriting. Soon after its establishment, we conceived new ideas that extended beyond the association’s scope. We therefore founded an art studio instead. For the sake of operational efficiency, we also transitioned to a limited company and relocated our headquarters to Finland. Regardless, we continue to uphold the charitable values of our predecessor.
